Northeast Seattle Little League provides a wholesome, healthy activity for children of all ages to learn the principles of discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play through the great game of baseball. We offer programs for both fast pitch softball and baseball for players between the ages of 5 and 18.
To be eligible to play, your child must be of the proper League Age, and must live within the official boundaries of NESLL. The League Age is different for baseball and softball, and is determined based on your child's age on April 30, 2007 for baseball and December 31, 2006 for softball.
The league is run by a Board of Directors which is staffed entirely by volunteers. We are always looking for more volunteers. As a measure of security, we conduct background checks against any person that volunteers so that we know our children are in safe hands.
We are quided by national Little League Baseball, Inc. operating requirements and the Little League Mission, and our own Constitution, supplemented by a set of documented local rules. NESLL is a member of Washington District 8 Little League, which consists of 16 north Seattle area leagues.
Player safety is our primary concern and on this website you will find several safety documents along with safety tips and resources to help our players get the most of their experience on the ballfield while remaining safe.
NESLL provides opportunities for a variety of Divisions in both baseball and softball, depending on age and skill level. Teams consist of 12 to 15 players. Games are played at local playing fields and coached by volunteers from the community. Our season begins with registration beginning in December, followed by player assessments in February for our higher divisions. Except for tee-ball and coach pitch baseball and 78ers softball, players are assigned to teams based on the player assessments and a draft. Practices usually begin in early March and games begin in early April and end in mid-June. We conduct post-season playoff for majors and minor divisions culminating in championship games on Championship Day. Some players are selected to participate in post-season "All Star" tournament competition.
