Baseball
Tee Ball Division – League Age 5-7
For boys and girls who will be 5, 6, or 7 years old as of April 30.

There are no pitched balls, and players hit off a hitting tee using safety baseballs. This is a non-competitive league with no player assessment, draft, playoffs, or scores. Players have the following options for team assignment:

  • Indicate a team preference on your registration.
  • Have NESLL place you on a team.
  • Register as a group of 15 players or less with a designated manager.
Managers contact players in mid-March. Practices typically begin in late March and games begin the third week of April. Two games per week are played; one on a weeknight and one on Saturday for a total of 12 games. Games begin at 6:00 PM on weeknights and at 9:30 AM and later on Saturdays.

Coach Pitch Division - League Age 7-8
For boys and girls who will be 7 years old as of July 31.
Coaches pitch to their own team using safety baseballs. This is a non-competitive division with no player assessment, draft, playoffs, or scores. Players have the following options for team assignment:
  • Indicate a team preference on your registration.
  • Have NESLL place you on a team.
  • Register as a group of 13 players or less with a designated manager.  

Managers contact players in mid-March. Practices typically begin in late March and games begin the third week of April. Two games per week are played; one on a weeknight and one on Saturday for a total of 14 games. Games begin at 6:00 PM on weeknights and at 9:30 AM and later on Saturdays.


American Division – League Age 9
For players who will be 9 years old as of July 31. Players who turn 9 after April 30 may choose to play in the Coach Pitch Division.
This is the first competitive Division with player assessments, a draft for team placement, scores, league standings, and playoffs. This Division uses a 60-foot diamond and players pitch using hard baseballs. A continuous batting order is used (all players bat) and minimum defensive play time is mandatory. Two games per week are played; one on a weeknight and one on Saturday for a total of 14 games. Games begin at 6:00 PM on weeknights and at 9:30 AM and later on Saturdays.

National Division – League Age 10-12
For players who will be 10, 11, or 12 years old as of April 30. 12 year-old players are generally not allowed to play in the National Division, and must obtain a waiver from the NESLL Board of Directors and the District 8 Little League Administrator before they are allowed to play in this Division. 12 year-old players may not pitch in this Division.
It is a competitive division with player assessments, a draft for team placement, scores, league standings, and playoffs. This Division uses a 60-foot diamond and players pitch using hard baseballs. This Division is an instructional league designed to prepare players for the Major Division. A continuous batting order is used (all players bat) and minimum defensive play time is mandatory. Two games per week are played; one on a weeknight and one on Saturday for a total of 14 games. Games begin at 6:00 PM on weeknights and at 9:30 AM and later on Saturdays.

Major Division – League Age 10-12
For players who will be at least 10 years old as of April 30. Players who are 12 as of April 30 may register for the Junior Division, upon approval of the NESLL Board of Directors. All 12 year-old players must play in Major Division, unless granted a waiver by the NESLL Board of Directors and the District 8 Little League Administrator.
This Division is the highest skill level. It is a competitive division with player assessments, a draft for team placement, scores, league standings, and playoffs. The Division champion is awarded the Guy Marquiss Cup. This Division uses a 60-foot diamond and players pitch using hard baseballs.
Practices begin the first week of March and games begin the second Saturday of April. Three games per week are played for a total of 21 games; games are played on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Games begin at 6:00 PM on weeknights and at 9:30 AM and later on Saturdays.

Junior Division – League Age 13–14
For players who will be at least 13 years old as of April 30. Players who are 12 as of April 30 may register for the Junior Division, upon approval of the NESLL Board of Directors. This Division is a competitive division with player assessments, a draft for team placement, games against teams from other District 8 Leagues, and a wooden bat tournament at the end of the regular season. This Division uses a 90-foot diamond with a 60’6” pitching mound—just like professional baseball.
Practices begin the first week of March. Games begin in early April, and teams will play 3 games per week. Games begin at 5:30 PM on weeknights and at 9:30 AM and later on Saturdays.

Senior Division – League Age 15-16
For players who will be at least 13 years old as of April 30.
This Division is a competitive division with player assessments, a draft for team placement, games against teams from other District 8 Leagues, and a wooden bat tournament at the end of the regular season. This Division uses a 90-foot diamond with a 60’6” pitching mound.
Practices begin the first week of March. Games begin in early April, and teams will play 3 games per week. Games begin at 5:30 PM on weeknights and at 9:30 AM and later on Saturdays.

Big League Division
For players who will be at least 13 years old as of April 30.
This Division is a competitive division and plays games against teams from other District 8 Leagues. This Division uses a 90-foot diamond with a 60’6” pitching mound.
Practices begin the first week of March. Games begin in early April, and teams will play 3 games per week. Games begin at 5:30 PM on weeknights and at 9:30 AM and later on Saturdays.
 
Softball
78ers - League Age 7-8
For girls who will be 7 or 8 years old as of December 31.
Machine pitch using safety balls. This is a non-competitive division with no player assessment, draft, playoffs, or scores. Players have the following options for team assignment:
  • Indicate a team preference on your registration.
  • Have NESLL place you on a team.
  • Register as a group of 13 players or less with a designated manager.  

Managers contact players in mid-to-late March. Practices typically begin in early April. A total of 12 games are played beginning in mid-April.


Minor Division – League Age 9-10
For girls who will be 9 or 10 years old as of December 31.
This is the first competitive division with player assessments, scores, league standings, and playoffs. This Division uses a 60-foot diamond, and players pitch using hard softballs. Teams play inter-league games against teams within the City of Seattle. Practices begin in mid-March. A total of 14 games are played beginning in early-April.

Major Division – League Age 11-12
For girls who will be 11 or 12 years old as of December 31.
This is a competitive division with player assessments, scores, league standings, and playoffs. This Division uses a 60-foot diamond, and players pitch using hard softballs. Teams play inter-league games against teams within the City of Seattle. Practices begin in mid-March. A total of 15 games are played beginning in mid-April.

Junior Division – League Age 13-14
For girls who will be 13 or 14 years old as of December 31.
This is a competitive division with player assessments, scores, league standings, and playoffs. This Division uses a 60-foot diamond, and players pitch using hard softballs. Often there are not sufficient numbers of registrants, and teams may be combined with other leagues in District 8. Teams play inter-league games against teams within the City of Seattle. Practices begin in mid-March. A total of 15 games are played beginning in mid-April.

Senior Division – League Age 15-16
For girls who will be 15 or 16 years old as of December 31.
This is a competitive division with player assessments, scores, league standings, and playoffs. This Division uses a 60-foot diamond, and players pitch using hard softballs.
