Before registering, please verify that you live within NESLL boundaries or that you qualify for a boundary waiver.
This is the registration form for children who will be 10, 11 or 12 years old as of May 1, 2010.
Program Descriptions:
The season for 9-12 year olds starts with player assessments, typically conducted in early February. Managers will draft players in mid-February and then contact their players during the last week in February regarding practices which will begin in early March.
Games begin in early April, and teams play 2-3 games per week. Games begin at 6:00 p.m. on weeknights and at 9:30 a.m. and later on Saturdays. The division championship games will be held on Saturday, June 12 at View Ridge Park. Players who participate on NESLL All-Star teams (9-10, 11 and 12) must make a significant time commitment in June and July.
Players register into a single pool for National Division and Major Division. Players who are not selected during the Major Division draft will be selected in the National Division draft.
National League baseball - Ages 10-11
The National Division is for players who will be 10 or 11 years old as of May 1, 2010.
This Division is a skill level below the Majors Division. It is a competitive division with player assessments, a draft for team placement, scores, league standings, and playoffs. This Division uses a 60-foot diamond, and players pitch using hard baseballs.
Majors baseball – Ages 10-11-12
The Major Division is for players whose ages are 10, 11 or 12 as of May 1, 2010.
This Division is the highest skill level. It is a competitive division with player assessments, a draft for team placement, scores, league standings, and playoffs. This Division uses a 60-foot diamond, and players pitch using hard baseballs.
National Little League rules require that all 12-year-olds play in the Major Division.
If a 12-year-old player's parents believe that the player truly lacks the skills to play in the Major Division, there is a process for allowing the child to play in the Minor (National) Division. First, the player's parent must fill out, sign and return a Regulation V(a) Waiver Request Form to the NESLL registrar. The deadline for receiving Regulation V(A) Waiver Request Forms is Thursday, January 29, 2009. Waiver Requests received after that date will not be considered. Then, the NESLL Board of Directors will review all waiver requests, conduct a board meeting on February 7, 2010, and approve or disapprove each request. Then, the Little League District 8 Administrator must sign and grant the waiver.
All 12-year-old players must attend player assessments. Failure to attend player assessments may result in the 12-year-old player not being allowed to play in ANY division of NESLL. Should a 12-year-old player be unable to attend one of the two scheduled player assessments, the player must deliver a written notification either by written letter or e-mail to the NESLL President no later than Sunday, February 7, 2010 citing the reason(s) for missing player assessments. The NESLL Board of Directors will review all letters and conduct a board meeting on February 8, and approve or disapprove each request. Under Little League, Inc. rules, if the local Board of Directors disallows an excuse for missing player assessments, such player will not be allowed to play any division of Little League whatsoever during the 2009 season. Make sure your child attends one of the two player assessments!
